The Needham Family: Less Disturbing Family Vacation Photos Part 1

This guy basically hung out. He met Snow White while Lila was on a ride she didn't like.
Cinderella was one of six princesses to sign Lila's autograph book - that book was a hit and a clear favorite of all things Disney. Not the spinning teacups (she was afraid and tore out of there after we sat down in a pink one she had picked out. While waiting in a very long line). Not the Country Bear Jamboree (after being scarred during the Mickey 3-D show in a theater she started screaming when she realized the bear show was in yet another theater). And certainly not the Snow White ride - very dark and very witchy and made her scream. But that autograph book was huge. Lila colored in it, reread the signings (looked at - she's smart but not reading) and asked about all the princesses who signed it.

Right after this picture was taken, we were on a bridge watching people on Splash Mountain get splashed (duh). Huge fun until Lila's token autograph book took a plunge into the water and was swept under the bridge (it's Disney so it was probably sucked down to the underground city and trash collection ASAP). Thank the good Lord she didn't see a thing. I told David to distract, distract, distract while I ran to the nearest store (it's Disney, so I didn't have to run far) grabbed another autograph book and matching $7 pen, signed princess names and tried to replicate Lila's doodles. One of my most excellent saves to date.

She had no idea until back at my parents' house a week later she kept asking for a page that Cinderella kissed. Agh - totally forgot Cinderella left a lipstick mark. Luckily, as I practice in my own home and learned from mom, she has lipsticks in kitchen drawers (even if I haven't showered come 6 p.m., I can still wear some lip rouge for my man). She snuck one in my hand, I told Lila I needed to investigate her book and that Cinderella smooch looks better than the original.

In case you are dying to know, Ariel dots her "i" with a heart. A clear sign of a slut. Belle, my fav - she's into books and digs a guy even though he's not hot (at first) - had the best penmanship and I bet if there was an "i" in her name she would just dot it.

Also key was leaving the park around 3 and coming back around 6. Lila was exhausted and overwhelmed. And we were so HOT. After goodbyes to mom and dad and Andy, a two-hour nap and dinner, we headed back for more. So thankful my parents were able to help with Andy - who clearly could have cared less (see picture below). Good thing he got in free. He definitely would not have appreciated standing in the meet the princess line AGAIN instead of making it to the parade. That was L's only agenda when we got back, but we did hit up a few other favorites before bonding in a 1 1/2 hour line to have princesses sign the Book.

Our night ended with our third ride on It's a Small World - huge hit. Needs its own post. And fireworks. And a pink castle and a 11 p.m. bus ride. And one very wound up 2-year-old.
