Andy turned ten months old yesterday and we celebrated by playing in puddles outside, chasing Lila in the wet grass and inviting a 2-month-old and another 2-year-old over for play, dinner and bath. It was so much fun. For real. Andy celebrated by getting up at 4:15 am (kind of the norm of late) and taking an hour and 10 minute nap - kind of record breaking for him.
I'm trying not to be sad that 10 months means that in two months I'll have a one year old and not a baby anymore, but I kind of am. David is so good to remind me how much more fun it is now - it is. And how much easier it is now that he's older. And he's right.
So I'm going to enjoy my baby who is eating big people food and only wants whatever he can pick up himself. He is so over baby food and being spoon fed. This silly baby who doesn't sleep late or take long naps, but does enjoy lots of early morning bonding time with his daddy while I sleep. My little baby calls for me and his daddy by name and has recently started squealing "I-UH" whenever he sees his sister. And for the record, she still calls him "baby Andy." He loves books, balls, bath time, the water table and Tucker and today said "Dah. Dah. Dah," for dog as he scooted around the house after him.
He fell in love with the beach after our trip Sunday - he just squealed every time we'd walk near the water, planted his butt in the sand and splashed away and scooted around in the sand.
Oh and how he scoots. He doesn't really crawl, but does this scoot thing with his left leg extended out and dragging. He is so fast, it's quite impressive. I've asked the docs about it, they don't seem concerned, so I'm not going to be, especially since he seems to walk fine, holding our hands or pushing his toys.
He's so fast that I have found him inside my shower playing in the water, on top of the dishwasher drawer while I was loading dishes and climbing up the stairs. Maybe it's not that he's so fast and more like I need to start keeping a better eye on my child. He's giving me a run for my money!
I can't believe he's already 10 months! Great pictures!!
